Horse’s Tail Won’t Grow? Follow These Growth Tips

Horses’ tails can be a great source of pride or a real problem. Some horse’s tails never seem to grow. Some horses have tails that grow, but the horses keep rubbing them out or breaking them off. If you follow these simple steps, you can be on your way to a long, luxurious tail in no time.

First, you need to untangle your horse’s tail. Do not ever use a comb of any kind on your horse. A comb will prevent you from gaining a long, luxurious tail more than any other grooming equipment you use on your horse. Use a stiff bristle human hair brush to detangle the tail.

Start at the bottom of the tail and work your way up to the top. Detangle small sections at a time. I like to spray the tail heavily with a spray shine product such as show sheen or laser sheen to help me get it untangled. If it is really bad, I use Cowboy Magic for detangling.

Once you have the entire tail detangled, you need to wash it. Any regular shampoo will do fine. I like to follow up with a good conditioner. If I am using my rapid growth formula, this is when I apply it to the roots and rub it in real good with my fingers.

The next step I do with my horse’s tail is to braid it from the bottom of the tail to the bottom of the tail bone. Be sure to leave it loose around the bottom of the tail bone so it doesn’t irritate your horse. I seal the very bottom of the braid with black plastic electrician’s tape. Never use a rubber band, as this will break the hair.

As the tail grows longer, I fold the tail, doubling it up below the bone. Then I apply another piece of electrician’s tape to secure the fold below the bone. This is all you need to do to give most horses the best chance to grow their tail naturally.

Reining Horse Manes

Reining horses with long, thick flowing manes make a spin look much more dramatic and crowd pleasing. It’s also sure to catch the judge’s attention and gain higher scores. You too can have a luxuriously long, attention getting mane on your reining horse by following these simple tips.

First, get rid of your horse comb! This does more damage to the reining horse mane than anything else. Remove tangles and keep your horse’s mane maintained by using only a stiff horse body brush or a stiff bristle human hair brush. Applying a spray gloss to your horse’s mane such as show sheen or laser sheen will help to untangle your horse’s hair.

Once your horses mane is tangle free, the next step is to shampoo his mane. You want to ensure that the mane on your reining horse is clean and free of sweet itch or anything else that is bothering your horse’s mane. Any good quality horse shampoo will do the job of cleaning.

If your reining horse is rubbing out his mane, chances are that there’s a problem. After you wash your horse’s mane, you can treat it for problems. Listerine mouth wash is a great “cure all” for sweet itch, fungas, mites and other problems. It usually stops all things that will cause your reining horse to rub out hair on the mane. I put the Listerine in a spray bottle, and spray heavily along the roots of my horses mane or tail. Then I rub it in to my horses mane with my fingers and leave it to do its job.

You can dramatically increase the speed of growth of your reining horses mane by applying a home made growth formula. With this special recipe, you can expect to gain up to 4″ of extra mane growth per month.

Riding Hats And Safety Wear

There is no question that horse riding can be the most enjoyable and rewarding experience, however there is a risk involved. It is impossible to eliminate all the risks involved with riding but a sensible and prepared approach means you can minimise the risks considerably.

A riding hat is the most important piece of equestrian clothing. A riding hats consist of a hard shell lined with shock absorbing material which can protect the rider’s head in case of a fall or accident. A riding hat should always be worn when riding but it is also important to wear a riding hat whilst working around horses, grooming them, handling them or lunging as this will minimise damage if a horse kicks.

If this is your first hat you should visit a BETA registered saddler or a tack shop so you can get help deciding the best fit for you. The fit of a riding hat is very important and the hat should be comfortable and secure. You should be able to shake your head firmly without the hat moving and if you have long hair remember to make sure you can fit your hat on with your hair up – as you may want to wear it away from your face whilst riding.

Riding hats should be replaced every 3 – 4 years as even if you can’t see any damage they will have suffered inevitable wear and tear which could limit it’s effective and make it unsafe to use, so it’s important to make sure they are always in good condition and up to date. If a riding hat is involved in a fall or suffers any big impact then it should be instantly replaced as there may be internal cracks in the shell which again would mean it would offer ineffective protection.

In the UK the two accepted standards of safety are: EN1384/BSEN1384 or PAS 015. Any riding hat you use should conform to one or both of these standards. Another safety indicator to look for is whether the riding hat is BSI Kitemarked.

Another great piece of safety equipment is the Body Protector. Body protectors are shaped like a vest with a hard outer shell and foam filling, they are to be worn over the top of clothes – although you can wear a jacket over them if you prefer. These offer great allover protection in case of a fall or accident. When first wearing a body protector they can seem quite restrictive but the foam moulds itself to the rider’s body and so will become more and more comfortable. Second hand body protectors should be avoided as if these have been subject to a fall or kick the protection they offer can be diminished even if they look in tact. Any Body Protector that is dented after a fall, should be replaced immediately as the impact absorption properties are likely to be diminished.

Safety is always important and by using a riding hat and body protector you can minimise the risk involved in horse riding and just concentrate on the fun and enjoyment it offers!

About Western Saddles

Horses are lovely and robust creatures that like to roam free. They run with the wind and fly with blades of grass. It is a actual privilege to be able to trip horses and those who do perceive that completely. We have now to deal with our horses and make it possible for they’re as comfy as they will be. They require a number of space to gallop, enough meals to eat, water to drink and shelter from the harmful weather.

Horses have many uses in our lives, but recently they are just for pleasure and we ride horses a lot.

The most common sort of saddle that we use on a horse is the western saddle. This can be a sophisticated but sturdy saddle that requires quite a lot of understanding to be able to use well. There are a lot of completely different components to the saddle and probably the most well-known is the stirrup. That is the place your ft go so you may balance on the horse. Proper above is the fender which attaches the stirrup to the skirt, or most important body, of the saddle. You sit on a seat with a cantle to help your behind and a gullet to protect your front. There are latigos that are strings and lots of rings to connect the saddle onto the horse with.

Horses are robust but sensitive creatures and it is our job to make sure we do not harm them. Earlier than you even think about attaching a western saddle onto your horse you should make it possible for they’re far from any danger. Animals want fixed grooming and when you’re placing a saddle onto a horse you could make sure that nothing of their fur or hair will hurt them. That’s the reason you will need to clear all debris, grass and other objects from the horses hair before you attach the saddle so to stop damage to the horse.

When you find yourself actually attaching the western saddle onto the horse that you must watch out because it’s a must to avoid damage at all costs. You should by no means tie the straps too tight as a result of it’d reduce of circulation and never tie it too free as a result of the western saddle will slide around. When you’re attaching a western saddle you need to place a padding beneath the saddle to guantee that they horse is protected.

After attaching everything make sure that you walk the horse around to see if the western saddle is fitted properly before you mount the horse. When you are on, just remember to ride safely and stay calm.

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Breeds

I have been around dogs and helping raise them since long before I can remember. We adopted our four-legged friends from a variety of places–breeders, the pound, “free puppy” stands at local grocery stores–and as a result, we had our fair share of both mutts and purebreds.

Over time, my family found itself gravitating toward certain breeds because of their loyalty, their looks, and their love. If you are thinking about bringing a dog into your family or want to know more about the one you already have, listen up.

One: Welsh corgis, of the Pembroke variety. Of the many pups I have owned and tended over the years, these are by far my favorite. They are big dogs in small packages, ranging from about 25 to 35 pounds. They are characterized as bold, loyal, and fun-loving.

Corgis adapt well to apartment living but they are, especially in their early years, extremely energetic and require plenty of exercise to avoid putting on unnecessary weight that can damage their joints and cause other health problems.

It should be noted that corgis are prone to bark and chew extensively, but they are smart and easy to train, so with adequate chew toys and patience, your corgi will be fine.

They have been bred to withstand the cold from damp, chilly Wales, so they have two coats. For the most part, the excess can be taken care of with a little daily brushing, but during the spring, they shed a large winter coat, in which case a trip to a professional groomer is advisable.

Two: German shepherd dogs. These shepherds are on the larger end of the spectrum, as far as dogs go, weighing in somewhere between 50 and 90 pounds. These dogs are extremely bright and were specifically bred for their above-average intelligence.

They bond closely with their families, which makes the breed fantastic as both watchdog and guard dog. However, their loyalty and their aggression, which has been heightened since they started being used as police dogs several decades ago, means they can mistake an attack where there isn’t one. Careful monitoring and training is advisable.

German shepherd dogs are strong, agile, and energetic. They love to play, but as they age, watch out for problems in the hips and other joints. If you mean to adopt a German shepherd from a professional breeder, make sure that all due health clearances are met.

They fir tends to be course, but an occasional visit for some dog grooming in Los Angeles, especially during hot summer months is a good idea.

Three: Great Danes. These critters are well over 100 pounds at a minimum, with many males exceeding 120 or 130. My family fondly nicknamed our last Dane our little horse because she was so large. Fun-loving and stupid (yes, I said stupid), these dogs like nothing better than pleasing their families.

Danes have small, needle-like hairs that tend to get stuck in fabric easily, and they shed continuously throughout the year but not necessarily very much at a time. They grow up to be beautiful dogs with seemingly endless amounts of energy, which is perfect for an active family.
