Shannyn D. Welsh has been training horses under instruction since she was 8 years old. At the age of 16 she went on her own and began training auction barn horses,correcting equine behavioral issues, breaking/starting in young horses,rehabilitating rescues and racetrack thoroughbreds as well as training all her own horses from birth to show ring. She specializes in family/kid safe horses, trick horses, Baroque Spanish Freestyle high school dressage, Hunters, Jumpers up to Grand Prix, Combined Training, Barrels, Western Pleasure, and on to the super reliable trail horse. Shannyn has a unique multicultural riding technique! Learning the confidence building approach from the Germans and the soft hand and seat from the Russians. ” I have been lucky to have so much help in the past from my German and Russian trainers/friends and influences worldwide, not to mention picking up horses abandoned, or horses people thought where nothing! I enjoy bringing the horse to the best it can be no matter the age/breed/size/ or defects of conformation. I simply match a horse to the discipline it fits best with patience and proper training. If something doesn’t work I sleep on it and find a different approach. My main goal is to figure out how the horse can learn with total understanding of what we are asking of him. Training a horse is one thing but teaching the equine to completely understand is another. From this standpoint the rider also has to be educated along with the horse.” Shannyn Welsh
